Echinata staghorn Coral
Acropora echinata
The Echinata Acropora is a beautiful bottlebrush Acropora coral; because it has a more open growth form it allows more water movement through it making it easier to keep than cluster Acropora. as it is aqua cultured it is hardier than wild caught specimens. They will not harm corals placed near them but will require space around for growth. Acropora are a hard to keep hard coral and are suitable experienced aquarists with a mature tank. Acropora require Strong lighting and a Strong water flow.
The Acropora coral obtains some of its energy from photosynthesis, it also feeds of other nutrients suspended in the tank water, it will also benefit from the addition of phytoplankton and micro plankton. As with all hard corals it is important to maintain calcium levels of 400 – 450 ppm
Acropora Corals are shipped out as a colony attached to a piece of live rock
