The Toadstool leather varies in colour from brown to green, with polyps varying from white to gold, it is often difficult to definitively identify species of toadstool as they are all very similar in appearance. They will not harm corals placed near them but will require space around for growth. Toadstool leather corals are an easy to keep soft coral and are suitable for beginners and experienced aquarists alike, clown fish have been known to host in toadstool corals in the reef aquarium. The Toadstool leather coral requires medium to strong light and a medium to strong water flow.
The Toadstool leather coral obtains most of its energy from photosynthesis, it will also benefit from the addition of phytoplankton and micro plankton, and even brine shrimp for larger specimens.
