Smiths Blenny
Meiacanthus smithii
The Smiths Blenny is nice small blenny suitable for nano tanks. They are best kept singularly as they are aggressive towards any similar shaped or coloured fish. They are venomous, but only really bite when attacked by larger fish
It requires a tank of 30 litres or larger with plenty of hiding places. The Smiths blenny will spend most of its time hunting in the live rock for small crustaceans. The Smiths Blenny isn’t a threat to corals, and will leave all but the smallest crustacean alone. They usually adapt well to frozen and even dried foods, but benefit from the addition of some carnivores material like Brine shrimp or shellfish.
