Dwarf/Zebra Lionfish

Dendrochirus zebra

The Dwarf Lionfish is a peaceful, slow moving fish, one of the smallest lion available it is popular for beginners. These fish should be housed singularly as they will fight with other lionfish

The Dwarf Lionfish requires a tank of at least 120 litres or larger with plenty of hiding places and rocky caves for it to feel safe,. The Dwarf Lion can be kept in a reef aquarium, but will stay in hiding mostly as it doesn’t like bright lighting, it will leave corals alone but shrimps, crabs, etc would be at risk. They usually adapt well to frozen and even dried foods, but should be supplemented with meaty foods like brine shrimp and crustacean flesh. Live feeder fish/shrimp may need to be offered when first introduced to entice the fish to eat
