Scopas Tang
Zebrasoma scopas
The Scopas Tang has the same body shape as the yellow but is a darker and less garish. Best kept individually unless in a large system as it is aggressive once it has a territory established and will fight with similar looking fish, and as such should be introduced last or simultaneously with other zebrasoma sp.
It requires a tank of 300 litres or larger with plenty open water for it to swim in. Tangs will eat meaty foods, but should also be supplemented with vegetarian matter like Nori to keep them healthy. The scopas tang will graze upon live rock keeping it clean, an appealing trait for some aquarists. They usually adapt well to frozen and even dried foods, but benefit from the addition of some vegetable material like Nori.
Approximate Purchase Size: Medium 4cm - 6cm, Large 8cm - 10cm
