Sally Lightfoot Crab
Percnon gibbesi
The Sally light foot crab is a member of the shore crab family, but it doesn’t venture out of the sea often. Multiple specimens can be housed together in large aquariums.
It requires a tank of 180 litres or larger with plenty of rockwork to hide in when malting and to scavenge detritus when a juvenile The Sally light foot isn’t reef compatible as it will eat small crabs, invertebrates and even fish once it is sexually mature. Some people offer these crabs an amphibious set up, with a rock or substrate area that is not submerged. If this type of setup is provided, take care that the crab cannot crawl out of the aquarium. On the whole, Sally Lightfoot Crabs are quite hardy and rather easy to care for.
The Sally light foot, like all inverts is intolerant to any copper based medications
