Red Reef Lobster

Enoplometopus occidentalis

The Red reef lobster is one of the most popular lobsters in marine aquariums. Multiple specimens can be housed together in large aquariums but they do better on their own due to their adult size.

It requires a tank of 200 litres or larger with plenty of rockwork and a sand/gravel to burrow under and make a cave, it will spend all of the day under the cave and when it molts will hide until its shell hardens. The red reef lobster is reef compatible, and a good addition as it will scavenge any leftover food stuffs, but can be fed any marine preparations.

The red reef lobster, like all inverts is intolerant to any copper based medications
