Linckia Sea Star, Blue
Linckia laevigata
The Blue Linckia Sea Star is a stunning and perhaps the most common of all sea stars. Only one should be housed per aquarium because of its feeding habits.
It requires a tank of 400 litres or larger live rock for grazing, good lighting should be provided to encourage algae growth on which it is known to feed. The Blue Linckia has been known to reproduce in the home aquarium shedding on arm which then grows a disk and 4 more arms. The blue Linckia stars are sensitive to aquarium conditions, and won't tolerate big fluctuations in sg, pH and O2. Due to this weakness they should be drip acclimatized over an hour
