Peppermint Shrimp
Lysmata wurdemanni
The Peppermint Shrimp is in the cleaner shrimp family but isn't reputed for its cleaning abilities. Multiple specimens can be housed together in larger aquariums.
It requires a tank of 30 litres or larger with plenty of rockwork to hide in when molting. The Peppermint shrimp is reef compatible and a good addition as it will scavenge any leftover food stuffs and is often used to control outbreaks of aiptasia anemones. The peppermint is a scavenger but can be fed a range of marine foods.
The Peppermint shrimp, like all inverts is intolerant to any copper based medications
